Freeman Jones have a rep who often looks in and hopefully he will pick this up --- he has helped quite a few clients with queries.

What do you mean by "just finished" ? If you have just made the final payment it can take up to 6 months for the formalities to be completed and the fianl completion certificate to be issued. Many firms do this within a few weeks to 2 months, but some take longer.

Since the end of my IVA and my credit file getting all pretty and positive I have never needed to provide my CC. However, I have 3 copies, one in the fire safe one in the Daughters house with other documents and one in my draw. You just never know!

I also have a scanned copy on several drives !

Always, always, always keep a copy of that certificate as you never know when the IVA might be brought up in the future. Although it drops off of your records at the credit reference agencies your former creditors might keep records of their own.

They are not supposed to but have a history of doing so and, to date, have had no successful challenge that I know of. Most don't challenge this because, if they had paid the refund to you it would have to be paid into your former IVA anyway, under a recent court ruling.

This could be a problem and could be payable into the IVA. I would suggest thinking of a reason to get it transferred back to your mum's account asap so that, if they request to see your bank statements it will show as an "in and back" transfer made in error by your mum.

Hi. You will go through the whole range of emotions -- this is normal. It is quite a step to take. Most of us here would say we wished we had done it sooner, rather than years of juggling and just making it through each month. It is not an easy path, but, with the right help and the right attitude i...

Speak to your IP and explain .... you might be able to renegotiate payments at a reduced level or make a full and final offer based on payments made to date.

This seems a very complicated way of doing things? the whole selling point of an IVA is simplicity, no letters and no phone calls. I'd rather just pay my council tax the normal way, personally. I agree -- when I did mine the CT was left as an allowable expense if not in arrears but someone took it ...

You go to the Data Controller at the creditor to get the date amended --- the status doesn't matter. However, if it's a couple of months out it will still drop off before you could get it sorted anyway ---- have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

This IS standard procedure now (although I don't agree with making problems where there weren't any before) and, it appears, some councils have yet to catch on. You are probably caught up in an automatic system, in error. My local council simply writes off the CT debt for the current year. If it act...

I would imagine it would depend on the circumstances of the case, but, in all likelyhood, yes.
