I spoke to a solicitor today who told me to speak to the IP and ask that the online meeting be made a physical meeting. As I am owed more than 25% of the debt, I am entitled to do this. Spoke to the dragon in the IP office who yelled down the phone at me and told me this was not possible and how da...

Hopefully your IP can sway enough of your other creditors to outvote Zopa. If you are rejected you could try to propose a DMP, but it will depend on your circumstances as to what other options might be worthwhile looking at: Are you a homeowner? If so, what sort of equity is there? How much are the ...

With only 14% of the voting power they do not hold enough sway if the other creditors can be convinced to vote ... and vote "Yes". Let's hope Payplan will put in the work where your other firm, maybe, didn't.

Your credit record will be shot for 6 years from the start date of the IVA, and 6 years from the date of each default (which should be the start of the IVA also). Have a read here: https://www.iva.co.uk/what-does-an-iva- ... dit-record

I do wonder - is it worth it for that amount?

My girlfriend has cashed it before i had chance to tell her not to! Will they be ok if I make payment once it’s cashed?!

You will probably now have to evidence the amount you send them --- the covering letter might do if it refers to the amount.

Although made out to you, your client account at your providers will be in your name, so the cheque could be paid into that account.

Hi, my wife is expecting a compensation award from the CICA for sexual assault but we are in an IVA. Do you think this will have to be paid towards our arrangements? Cheers. Hi, yes we are both in IVA for joint debt. Debt we actually got into because my wife couldn’t work after the trauma. Silly qu...

Most IP's treat PPI refunds as an asset, rather than a windfall, so you don't get the £500 trigger. However, for £69 the IP might well leave it with you. You need to ask your IP.

Are you both in IVA's ? If so the IP will take an interest --- there is no specific mention of compensation in IVA terms, but, under bankruptcy, compensation specifically for pain and suffering is allowed to be kept and most IP's follow this practice in an IVA. Only your own IP will be able to say w...

No -- they are ignored for that vote --- the deciders are those that actually vote.

Whilst I sympathise with your situation, I fail to see what you are now trying to achieve. You have completed the IVA and should be released shortly by the issue of your completion certificate. An IVA is, in a nutshell, an arrangement between you and your creditors to allow you to pay as much of you...

It will, I am afraid, be payable to your creditors through your IP. Until such time as you have the completion certificate issued all terms and conditions apply. They will take a sum up to the amount of the full original debt, plus fees and possible statutory interest, less payments you have made to...

If he is being allowed to 'with hold' family debts until the IVA is complete then you need to make a formal complaint as he should never be allowed to have preferential agreements in place just because they are family. From your explanation seems he is trying to shaft everyone in preference to his ...

When you say that you have a charge on the property, what do you mean? Is the loan secured against the property ? If so it cannot be rolled into the IVA.

The ampunt you agree to pay over during the IVA is not the new figure you "owe" -- it is what you agree to try to pay back, at least. As Merlin said -- you still "owe" the full original debt, plus fees and statutory interest. Fees are usually around 15% of the money paid in, plus...
