I've just had a call back from them, they said that the delay was due to one of the creditors disputing the figures regarding the original debt. Can they do this? At this late stage are the creditors allowed to add, increase or change the final figure owed? what's the worst possible outcome? Regard...

No -- you have plenty of time yet ----- traditionally mortgage terms ended at 65, so you could still squeeze in the usual 25 year term. But, more and more, lenders will allow them to run to 70 and up .... by then we will probably not be retiring until we are in our 80's anyway !!!

Aperture are under strain at the moment due to taking on other caseloads and under resourcing (one thing they are good at) but were never the fastest horse in the race before that ! I would suggest a formal complaint to the firm which you can escalate to the regulators via the Government Gateway at:...

The amount offered, the fact it is from a third party and is only for the purposes of a F&F, and, if rejected, the money will be retained by the donor. Reasons, especially if compelling. As some firms are dragging their feet, some put in a clause that they will deduct the amount of regular payme...

This is a new one on me. I, too, was a civil servant and, as you know, they have a dedicated tax department so mistakes are less common than in the regional tax offices ( but, I guess, they still happen).

Might I ask which Insolvency firm you are with ?

I would suggest a chat with your IP --- a few weeks delay now would be better than the whole thing failing later on if it becomes unsustainable.

The fact that you have taken out a loan without permission is grounds to fail the IVA --- but, as I said, they could at least ask the creditors if they would be willing to forgive the situation in light of the pressing needs at the time.

At the very least they should allow you to put the whole thing (loan, reasons and all) to the creditors for them to decide on how to proceed. Which firm are you dealing with here ? Lisa's suggestion of having a chat with a specialist Insolvency solicitor is a good one. In the meantime all you can do...

As long as you have no joint finances any association on your credit files should be removed. Before any large financial undertaking, like a mortgage, it is always a good idea to check your credit files with each of the three agencies and making sure everything is correct. Make sure you are shown a...

I guess they are running on auto pilot and not thinking things through. If S.I is waived and you have paid the full debt plus the fees any future PPI will be yours (get your IP to sign a letter to that effect as well as the completion certificate in due course too) . The BR reference (is this paypla...

Yes,they can do this, but they cannot force you to take an offer with that company ( if one is forthcoming). The chances are that the firm will find a secured loan as remortgages are still few and very far between. If your IVA is on R3 or pre- 2014 Protocol conditions then the alternatives are a rem...

As Luluj says, you are not committed at this stage. Simply tell them you do not wish to go ahead. Might I ask what the problem is ? They give me a wrong advice I think. I was under pressure on the phone and all went very quickly. Later I do more research and I think they gave me wrong advice. I hav...

Hmm. Not sure if I'm any the wiser. I started in July and the CT payments were added to the IVA and spread out amongst creditors (I believe) So the Council will get some I suppose. I mean couldn't they refuse to allow me the basic services like bin collection and.......Oh, I can't think of anything...

2 more payments ? Has the IVA already been extended in lieu of equity on the house ? If so, it might be worthwhile having a word with the IP and see if you can pay up those two payments to get the IVA completed --- then, in due course once you have the completion certificate, you will be free to do ...
