Dave Ramsey is an American financial guy, who is on social media and I watch him on YouTube. Although I can't follow his "baby steps" at the moment because of the IVA, I do find his methods, ideas the way forward for me. I will have to start embracing the IVA more, because before I was li...

Hi Thanks for the replies. Definitely not a business, just trying to be able to give my son (12 years old) more games for his PlayStation. When I recently done my first annual review (2 months early!) The online bank statement request calculator tool, calculated these as my income. Also because I u...

You need to embrace life in an IVA --- you have a set budget and just need to adapt to it. Life in an IVA isn't easy, but it is (in my case) far better than juggling the money to keep creditors happy. I actually had more to spend on shopping etc than when I was in debt. Search out bargains, go to th...

The total amount to clear the debt sounds about right. But, I think that maybe the payments he is making are too high and based on the wrong income. When he gets overtime is he telling the IP each month? What is supposed to happen is that he has to declare extra income each month and pay the 50% wit...

And the...

Can You please tell what happen normally when I fail my IVA because of taking payday loans and have a bit bigger income? What they can do? Basically I would like to know what I can expect. No-one can tell you -- if the IVA fails the creditors will decide what they want to do about it. They could ma...

Hi Foggy, Thanks for your reply. My friend said there was no mention of how much the fees would be to the IVA providers, in terms of a stated amount, i.e, total fees £3,000 for running the debt, for example. It said something about a % on the first review, but gave no indication it would amount to ...

Seeking advice for a friend. My friend has an IVA for a debt of £10,000 over 5 years. When it started, the cost was £100 p/m, but has now increased to £600 p/m. Just over 4 years in, near £13,000 has been paid, and the debt cleared, but the IVA say payments must continue for the full 5 years, which...

At the weekend I acquired a large bag of fleece offcuts, which I'll be turning into mouse ropes. However there's so much that I can use some of it to make some dog toys too I've never made any fleece dog toys before though - does anyone have any suggestions of what? The bigs are all long narrow str...

From experience of Aperture you will not find it easy to get them to issue such a letter as they are usually pretty hot on collecting all PPI for the creditors. I would suggest a letter, sent by recorded delivery, direct to the IP (so you will know it has been received).

As Kallis says, you will each have your own IVA, but they have been made "interlocking" --- treated as one. They can be seperated and each can continue on their own, with each of you making your own payments. To be honest, I am surprised that an IVA was even proposed at the start for such ...

The current IVA might not be failed, so don't panic yet. You can apply for a new one, but you would have to explain why this one failed and convince everyone that it would not happen again ... not an easy thing to do in the circumstances.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah I was a little bit shocked that they emailed to say they have posted the letter today so fingers crossed it arrives. Surprised they didn’t ask for me to provide any PPI details as I know a friend couldn’t get their completion certificate unless they signed someone to ...
