No -- you cannot incur more debt. Most arrangements alow for up to £500 credit to be taken without the IPs permission -- however, this is intended to cover things like credit meters on utilities and installment covered car insurance and the like ... not catalogues.

The new debt owner will be bound by the IVA exactly as the original creditor was. You need not correspond with them apart from giving them details of your IP and giving the IP their details, so the two can correspond and sort it out.

I would not change anything until I speak to Aperture -- on a call of my own making first.

This is the first I have heard of this and you are right to be sceptical.

The variation meeting has to be called within 21 days of your IP getting all the information they require --- NOT from the date of your request. My guess is that they have thrown this into the pot to give themselves more time. If they had genuinely wanted it they would have asked for it before now (...

Your broker is wrong and I would be worried that your broker isn't clear in his knowledge of IVA's --- the discharge date is a BR term. What they are all talking about is the completion date (you complete an IVA, not get discharged). This will be when the IP issues a Notice of full implimentation --...

Make a formal complaint, direct to the IP, mentioning that you will be escalating the matter to their regulators via the Government Gateway.

I have dowmloaded said book and will have a read. I am sure it will be a useful story for those with gambling problems as well as those in IVA's generally. Gambling does, I fear, play a part in many IVA stories.

At the end of the day (and nearer the time) only your own case handler can tell you what they want --- it varies from firm to firm and from review to review, if the IP so decides. The best course of action is to keep all payslips, bank statements, utility bills, council tax bill and insurance detail...

Land Registry will need the person who lodged the restriction to submit and RX4 to get it removed. If they are not traceable there is another method, but LR will still need to lodge a request with the original IP and await a response, or non-response, which will take time ... getting in touch with t...

It is an asset that should have been declared --- as Kallis says pensions and proceeds may be excluded if this is specifically stated in your proposal --- otherwise it will be treated as an asset and payable into the IVA.

If you are in an IVA you cannot get further credit without your IP's permission and, in any event, the finance company will, in all likelyhood, refuse an application due to your low credit worthiness. That said, there have been one or two instances where the IP and creditors have agreed, due to circ...

You have a couple of hurdles: It is becoming increasingly common for creditors to withold refunds and use the money to offset the previous debt .... they are not supposed to do this, but, as far as I am aware, have remained unchallenged. So they might not send anything to you anyway. As Kallis has s...

This is what concerns me the most... that details of my IVA are still out there for others to view.. after 10 years :-( how do we stop this ?
To stop it we would need to find out the source and check out the legality (which, I think, would be shaky under the new regulations). Not easy to do.
