At 15k I would be looking down the route of a debt management process rather than an IVA. You are not guaranteed anything in a debt management plan but it would be first step to sorting out your cash flow. You need to speak to a few companies to gauge their response and advice and see if it really d...

Hi Everyone . Thank you for the invaluable advice . I have taken your advice and have refused to speak to the creditor .who in fact became very irate with me and said they were now going to take legal action . I also contacted the IVA company and they gave me the same advice . Feel a lot less stres...

Topic: Can I get car finance once my IVA completes
Replies: 4

I have seen several adverts on the web from car dealers offering finance to low income, bad credit and those in an IVA. The caveat is the APR is scary high and the repayments over 5 years cost the car out at nearly double it's advertised price. Just be careful and don't make a bad decision on the ba...

Topic: Should my IP still be an interested party in relation to PPI claims

The T&Cs of the IVA have no bearing on the legality of who gets any PPI refund, this has been beaten to death and the outcome, legally, is that if you have ever signed a proposal and entered an IVA then the assigned IP has first dibs on that refund for the benefit of the creditors. No matter if ...

Do not hide your involvement in an IVA in any contractual or legal paperwork or discussion. Failure to divulge this when asked would not be looked at lightly.

If your partner is not in an IVA then they are under no obligation, no matter what your IVA company says, to divulge any income or financial information to them. As Foggy says, best option open to them is to assume 50/50 split of all bills. Don't be bullied into giving them any financial information...

If the IP is told of any 'potential' claims that may arise due to her circumstances and the bully landlord, then fore warned is fore armed. Making sure that that conversation is recorded and minutes raised then it could save a huge headache if the claim was made during the IVA term.

Depends just how committed you want to be in trying your arm? If you believe it may just be worth a punt at claiming yourself then go for it. But as Foggy say's don't employ a claims company or could end up out of pocket.

If they were listed in the proposal, and it seems they were from your explanation; Do not enter into conversation with them, if they have "security questions" that they pose to you when they phone you, just refuse to answer them. Tell them you are in an IVA and your company is xxxxxxxxxxx,...

I would write to all the credit reference companies and ask this question to them. They would be far more versed in what you would be required to do to get your records updated than anyone. Unless one of the experts has a solution that is.

You would need to talk to your IVA company, some, like mine did, wait until the review date to implement any income changes. Keep track of all the added expenses if you change your working hours, you may forget some small expenses that in the long run work out to be a substantial amount. A new I and...

Doesn't seem right to me! I don't see the logic in increasing payments other than an off the cuff decision made by a desk jockey rather than your IP. I would question it and ask to speak directly with your IP rather than a case handler. If you were to increase the payments and the F&F was reject...

My missus had no issues registering with the local Bingo club here when we were in an IVA, hope it is nothing and you can go out and have some fun (and win a few bob - less than £500 though, just so you get to keep it all)
