Not what you want to hear, but a friend was refused a residential visa for Australia due to their IVA. They had just 9 months to run on the term but didn't get to emigrate. You will need to speak directly with the Australian immigration panel to find out if they will let you in or not.

Marston's are scum with very dubious business tactics, get some proper legal advice from the CAB or other body as they will attempt to bully you, and don't care if you know they are wrong it what they are doing. Don't open your door to these thugs and do not enter into a conversation with them if th...

I doubt they will start fraud proceedings, as a lender they also have a duty to make sure you can afford the loan repayments. Scare tactics to possibly get you to pay the loan off before you go into an IVA. Put it on the back burner and continue with your plan 'A' .

I don't wish to sound too negative but lending friends a large sum of money has proved to others to be a recipe for disaster. Taking into account your friend hasn't got the greatest track record in managing current debt (been there done that) I would err on the side of caution. Even now, after being...

So sorry your IVA has left you feeling so hostile about the process and outcome. You are a minority though and I would describe most IVA's to be faultless and a great solution for becoming debt free and budget savi for the future. Most IVA's, as borne by the tiny percentage who use this journey that ...

Once your IVA payment has gone out, and all your DD's are accounted for and budgeted for then your disposable cash that remains is pretty much for you to spend on 'whatever'. Listing £200 for food does not limit you to exactly this amount, if you draw from another listed expense i.e. fuel then that ...

You do have to include it as an income, however you can account for it all as an expense. Your IP should be made fully aware of this in your I&E report. Give him/her a call if you think it may cause a problem.

Hahaha!! I did have a horrible headache today, but don't think it was the amaretto, although I probably did drink more than one measure. I'm too poor to have luxuries like owning a measuring tool (my excuse and I am sticking to it!)

Great post Mrs_Brown. I was, like you, amazed at just how calm I was after just 1 year of being in my IVA. Even the postman couldn't believe how few bills he had delivered to me :D :D . We still shop like we had to during the IVA, but do 'slip' now and again when we see something nice, but it has to...

I got a refund from GT once my IVA was complete, it took them about 13 months though. Wasn't expecting it and it was a nice change from having to pay over all my PPI and Tax rebates. Amazingly they took a cut of the final interest total as 'administrative costs' which I thought was rather cheeky as ...
