If you never directly contacted this company then just throw any paperwork in the bin, they have trawled the IR and found your name and address and are just trying their luck that there maybe additional PPI they can claim in your name and rake the ~40% commission. That ~40% would legally be payable ...

Topic: Should I still be paying for loan if she is in an IVA?

If this was a joint loan in both your names then the creditor will expect you to fulfil the full amount of the repayment plan not just 1/2 even thought he loan would be accounted for in the IVA. If she was the sole signee then you have no legal obligation other than a moral one.

I agree with Foggy, although it is possible it would be ill advised to do so until you have been released from the IVA with your completion certificate.

Sorry, I didn't realise that it was just your Husband in the IVA, as Foggy says if you are not then you are responsible for the debt as a joint signer.

I don't think anyone on here would tell you to "jog on". We all know and understand our failings to those we owed money to. The vast majority of us would not even think of lying about our debts to 'swindle' money out of genuine creditors or use a lie to pad out the figures. Good luck any w...

You need to start a dialogue with Aperture over this. There may be a bit of crossed communication within the departments as Aperture are renowned for not always getting it right! Speak to them asap otherwise you will just get more frustrated.

Ignore any letters or requests from creditors listed in your IVA they have no rights to contact you. Phone your IVA company and report this to them, they should take any action required to get them to stop. Don't fret too much as they can not demand any monies from you and you should not converse wi...

You could always drop the first suggested figure to 20k and see if that would be accepted. Always indicate that the money is only available from a 3rd party for a settlement figure and is not available for any other purpose.

That last payment feeling is almost as good as the first payment knowing you have made strides to get out of debt. Congratulations, and I agree, an IVA was the best option for me and my wife. It has made our life so much fuller now we are debt free.

During my IVA I started a new job that had a different pay day to what I started with, 4th of month. Changed to last Friday of the month, when I phoned my IVA company there was no issue in changing the day of my payment.

Thanks for posting this, we tend to drop our guard when our "backs are to the wall" and it wouldn't take too much 'flannel' to believe that you needed to have a conversation with companies like this. Glad you were savvy enough to blank them.
