I used to hate my employer doing the "pay you early for Christmas" thing! Trying to stretch an extra week was hell, I was so glad when they dropped that little snippet of "help".
Congrats on getting to the end (almost).

A great post and result. Sometimes the fight is worth the extra effort. My IVA was with Grant Thornton who morphed into Aperture. I had not a single stressful issue with them, but there were some horror stories floating about during my IVA about them!

As bad as it sounds 'not being fair' is the worse it gets. We have to take some responsibility for the situation we found ourselves in. Any way or means to pay what we owe is a bonus to our creditors and this is the gamble they take when we enter an IVA, most of the time they lose the gamble and get...

Great post. A positive reinforcement to those with niggly doubts about whether to enter an IVA or just struggle on.

These companies are far too slow in making refunds when they owe money, but find it difficult for the elbow to talk to the posterior when someone owes them money! Took months for some of my creditors to get the correct information to the correct departments and stop sending letters.

Personally, as all your obligations have been completed and you have made your last 'obligated' payment, I would just keep quiet about the redundancy. I take it you have a letter or email from your IVA company confirming Decembers payment was the last one required? I fear that cat might be already ...

I think you would be real lucky if it was even discussed. Like Kallis3 I believe the IVA will swallow it all and just make a substantial dent in the dividends to your creditors.

Have a word with your local CAB, Brighthouse are not on the FO's Christmas list! Foggy is correct as to you selling the goods, but the FO is chasing Brighthouse for the extortionate charges they put on goods sold to those most in need. You didn't take the best course of action by selling the goods, ...

I never had to supply bank statements at any review, but that may not be the case with your IVA company. All my payslips and P60's were emailed to my IP as .pdf documents as I got them via online HR from work, we never got paper copies. It can be a daunting thought, thinking you are not going to hav...

You really should 'try' and make savings while in your IVA, even £2.00 put away a month soon adds up. As we know, sods law will dictate that it will be needed sometime during your journey.

Congrats Twiglet, I doubt there are any members who didn't release at least one tear when opening 'that letter'. Have a great Christmas, sit back, chill and patiently wait for the flak to drop off your records and have a fantastic debt free future.

A difficult one to come up with a definitive answer. 2003 PPI wasn't looked at as being mis-sold and wasn't looked at as a possible asset for those in an IVA I believe. I can't see how it can be an inclusion now. The IVA finished over 15 years ago and I doubt an IP would want to take the time to reo...
