I hope the dream of a Fiat 500 becomes a reality soon. Nice car and very chic, not that it would suit a past middle age man with his "Christmas podge" still visible  :D

You need to write a letter rather than sending an email, you can send it 'recorded signed for', that way you have proof it got to it's destination and if your IP never gets to see it then someone in the firm is responsible and liable for lack of communication not you. Your creditors will never know ...

Even if Amigo had accepted the IVA your guarantor would still be liable for the payments you missed. We can only offer sympathy and support sorry. It doesn't help you or your guarantor but your situation isn't going to get any better soon so you need to come up with a plan B. Was Amigo the deciding ...

Don't be tempted to make token payments if your creditors contact you, however I would make rent payments as having a roof over your head is more essential than anything else at the minute.

Congratulations. To be honest nothing will happen to improve or alter your credit score or records until after the 6 year point, you have a full year left. Just savour the great feeling of getting that CC, have a glass or 5 and relax. Great news.

Great post Firefox, and yes it seems that the lessons learned are ingrained in many of us. I still use a spreadsheet to log every penny we spend and we are still 'scared' to actually spend money on stuff we want, if we don't need it then we don't have it.

No idea, just fill them out with the amount and who to, I am sure they will be taken into consideration when they work out your payments. If you don't put these bills in then you may end up having to pay more to the IVA pot.

I just got an email off Clear Score about credit scores and records. Below is the main points that they see as key to remaining a good credit record. Not my work so I cite Clear Score: Key factors that could affect your score The age of your accounts Lenders like to see signs of stability. So owning...

You may wish to speak with a specialist solicitor and get a 'set in stone' answer if it going to bother you too much. Personally I would just sign the forms and send them back, you are not going to see any of the money even if you make loud noises it will make no difference. The definitive answer to...

My experience is that it will take a bit longer than the 6 year drop off point. I found that because I had absolutely no financial history after the 6 year point that my score took a while to actually show any increase at all. It was close to 1 1/2 years after the 6 year point that my score started ...

I would also say that his gratuity would be classes as a windfall and would be swept up by his IP. He needs to speak with his IP over this as if the consensus is that he will have to pay it to the IVA then he can defer the pension cash out part of the gratuity payment (commutation of pension) . His ...

I also think 7k is a small amount (in the scale of debt) to be offered an IVA, there are other alternatives available that could have been a better option. Proving it was missold is another matter and would be costly to pursue! You would have to declare the overtime as this could lead to your IP con...

Congrats on achieving the first hurdle, it really is all down hill from here on in. You have control of your finances back, although you won't have a king's ransom each month you will know exactly what you have and how to spend it on the essential stuff. You will start to understand the difference b...

I was with Barclays from year 4 in my IVA and found them to be very supporting of the fact I was in an IVA. Only got a basic account to start with, but almost as soon as my IVA dropped off the Insolvency register (3 days after final payment!) my account was upgraded to a full current account without...
