Hi,

You do need the IVA to drop off your credit files before we can apply for a mortgage.
If it happens the day after your 6 years ends, and the files are clear, we will be able to help as we do this daily for clients as their IVA 6 years ends.

My partner and I are have ‘interlocking’ IVAs; they are due to end in August this year upon completion of the ‘equity clause’ period. We already have a mortgage and I would like to ask if we could apply for a new one either with our existing or another lender once the IVAs come off our credit files...

Hi Amy, It is difficult to arrange a mortgage while still in an IVA. We do have access to a few lenders that will assist even while in an IVA. None of them allow a Shared Ownership or Help to Buy application while the IVA is still on your credit file. Please feel free to call me to discuss the matte...

Hello Megan,

We would need to check your credit files but, yes, in general terms, we can assist with an IVA once your credit files are all clear. We can use the Help to Buy scheme as well.
Please call Kevin on 10582 450000 to discuss further.

Hi Maxine, It may depend on what sort of role it is - if you are going to be advising or 'selling' it may be more of an issue than if you are more administrative. We've certainly seen many people on the forum though who have worked in finance and had no issues being in an IVA. Good advice from Kalli...

Hi Kerry,

The most important factor is the default date - this will be shown on the credit report. As has been previously said the Account will fall off the reports 6 years after the Default date.

Also if you have moved since the IVA began you need to include all your addresses in your personal information on the credit reports going back to the start date of the IVA - if you don't provide the address the IVA was recorded against the defaults won't always appear on the credit reports.

As Foggy says your IP should be able to tell you - if it has been sold on the new creditor may also be shown on your credit report.
