As Foggy says you can't take further credit so you would have to settle your IVA. If you were to do so and have access to a large deposit (possibly 25% +) there may be Specialist Lenders that would consider lending to you.

As has been said try not to worry too much as this does happen from time to time unfortunately. Computers have a lot to answer for! Good advice from Kallis on the best course of action.

All the best with it.

If it is just the re-mortgage (not secured loan) route that they are looking at as has been said previously if it were possible it would mean the whole new mortgage probably being at a much higher rate than you are currently paying. If that's not your preferred option we have provided a letter previ...

As Kallis says a default will show for 6 years from the date it is recorded - the start date of all the defaults should be the same as the IVA start date so that on the 6th Anniversary all the reports (Experian, Equifax and Callcredit/Noddle) should be clear.

As Foggy says not whilst in the IVA, if you were able to settle the IVA early there is a Lender who may consider lending though.

Hi,

From looking at their website they say 'its a mortgage free way of buying a property' - not sure how that's possible unless you have the full amount available in savings so definitely best to read the small print.

Pretty much what Foggy said. We've had Clients who managed to speak to someone helpful and they were taken off within 24 hours but it does seem to be luck of the draw sadly.

Hi Kerry, If you wait until June next year then there are High Street Lenders we have access to who would be willing to lend, subject to affordability and loan to value. If you were looking to do it prior to then you'd be looking at 'adverse' Lenders and so the interest rates would be quite a bit hi...
