Hi DK, So shortly after the 6 years of an IVA there are very few HIgh Street Lenders who will look to lend normally. A few will consider applications whcih generally means going to an Underwriter. We certainly have access to Lenders who would look to lend normally now. It can also be a completely di...

Also best to make sure that you are showing on the electoral register as that is a major plus on credit scoring.

Hi Dennis,

Have you moved address since the IVA began? To obtain a true full report you need to provide a full 6 year address history.

Hi,

You mention that you are looking for the future and doubt that you would be able to get a mortgage for 'a long time' after the IVA - this may be the case for some Lenders however, we have access to High Street Lenders who will look to lend normally 6 years after the IVA began.

As has been said you may well have to repay the IVA to be able to obtain a Mortgage. If you then had access to a large deposit there may be Lenders willing to lend before the 6 year anniversary of the start of the IVA.

Hi Kelsus,

As Foggy says it is luck of the draw - we've had a few Clients recently though who have been taken off straight away so it's definitely worth trying again.

Best of luck.

The actual default date is the most important thing as the default will 'fall off' the credit reports 6 years after that date.

Hi,

We've certainly been able to assist others in similar situations. It's also worth checking out the impact of the second property stamp duty on any additional property purchase.

I agree with the previous comments. Have you checked your credit reports and the insolvency register to see if you are still showing (which you should be if the Completion Certificate hasn't been issued).

Hi Anthony,

I echo Foggy's words. Depending on how much deposit you have available it may be possible to obtain a mortgage now if required.
