It is a legitimate debt management company and can arrange IVA. I have just completed ours with them however did not choose them from the outset...my original company closed and I was transferred across (which by the way happens and is allowed to happen andyou cant stop it). Anyway, they have been '...

Sorry to jump on post but Foggy I think my friend needs to look into that option as can no longer afford iva with change in circumstances.
Is there a template letter or suggested terminology to use in a letter asking to finish using payments made to date?

Thanks

I do think alot if it boils down to your mindset and how you enter an IVA. We entered owing nearly £50k. There was no way we would have managed without an IVA. All the way through we kept telling ourselves we owed the full £50k even though we wouldnt ever pay it all back. We lost an inheritance and ...

I dont have any advice about the chances of it being sorted, I just wondered why youve been in an IVA 10 years? Im not surprised you want things wrapped up. Thats a very long time tohave it hanging over you.
Hope it is accepted in december.

Yes absolutely it has to be included! Apart from rent/mortgage this is likely to be one of your biggest outgoings. I have had 3 children in childcare during the 5 years IVA and like you it tipped nearly £700 especially during summer holidays. It must be included and taken into account. We had an arr...

Thank you lulu Yes it was a relief for both of us to find out we were in similar situation. She was telling me about a year or more ago about her debts and couldnt afford xyz. I broached the idea of an iva and thats when she said she was alrrady in one. I could have cried. We were in a better positi...

My friend is a single parent of 3 children (10,8 and newborn). She is about half way through an iva paying £170 a month. She lives in council accomodation. This is usual and seems to be standard practice for CF!
