I've heard of some mortgage lenders who operate on this basis where there are arrears on the mortgage or there are other issues....their metier is to discuss your situation and try to agree a plan with you. I defer to other experts greater technical knowledge regarding the IVA but as the mortgages s...

This would then leave you free and clear to sell the house, at which point you would settle the finance....

It really depends on your other circumstances (your income, the amount of deposit you have available etc.) but it would be a good idea to get the preparatory work done now. Have you obtained a copy of your credit file?

Creditors do seem to be raising this question increasingly at the moment. If you are unable to re-mortgage to settle the debts and they need to be resolved I suspect selling up may be the only option.

There's nothing actually preventing you being a Mortgage Adviser but any firm you work for (or if you become directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, the FCA themselves) would need to be satisfied that this will not have any detrimental affect on any advice you provide. Ultimately it ...

If it's fairly superficial, do you need to get it fixed? Alternatively you could consider buying it back from the insurance company and getting the work done yourself?

It is frustrating I know but something you have plenty of time to get corrected as, whilst you are in the IVA, it is somewhat irrelevant. Write to the ICO at the various institutions (the individual details can be obtained here https://ico.org.uk/about-the-ico/what-we-do/register-of-fee-payers/). Be...

I agree, it seems unusual for a lender to repossess for such a (relatively) small amount. Have you been issued with an eviction notice?

It's a little difficult to determine your best course of action with the brief info you are able to provide through open forum but, for your income to be considered in any lender's assessment, you would have to be a party to the mortgage. From what you are saying this doesn't sound like it would be ...
