I'd recommend seeking some specific advice from an insolvency firm (perhaps one of those running this forum). The fact that you own property does not PREVENT you from entering an IVA but they would need to establish whether you are insolvent, particularly as you have no mortgage. They will also be a...

I agree with previous comments, having a pay-day loan showing on your credit file is not ideal and can affect your chances of obtaining other competitive credit (including mortgages) with many lenders. I wouldn't want to encourage you back into debt but if you really do need the money this month and...

You say that you have just entered your 5th year but that your IVA had failed. I think the experts will need to be clear on whether it has or hasn't failed as this may alter their comments.

It's possible, although Halifax wouldn't be one to entertain it as you have already seen. It will really depend on your other circumstances but the IVA itself isn't a deal breaker.

If the complaint is about the IP firm then it would have to be addressed to them and their regulators. If it's about the PPI claims company then it's the Ministry of Justice (MOJ).

I suspect that overcharging would be treated the same as PPI but hopefully one of the other experts can help in more detail.

If you are able to raise enough to be able to settle your IVA then, subject to what Foggy says in terms of the actual amount, the IVA would be settled and you would be removed from the Insolvency Register. In terms of your credit record, the IVA will continue to show on your file for 6 years from co...

If the credit card was included in your IVA it should no longer be showing on your credit file and you should write to them to ask them to correct it. This should have a positive impact on your credit file but don't be too consumed by how the credit reference agencies score you, this is just an indi...

Hi Colin, that's a pretty tricky situation but bear in mind that the reason they will have asked you to offer your property as security for the loan facility is to ensure that they get their money back! I can't really dress it up any differently but I agree, I'd certainly suggest some professional a...

Hi Paul. Welcome to the forum. It doesn't seem unreasonable on the basis that they are responsible for supervising your finances during the period of your IVA.

I agree with previous comments, you should be able to obtain a copy of the land registry directly from them - I think the cost to you directly is £6
