I would be concerned that your IP has given you the wrong advice in the first place...

You will need to pay the monies into the IVA, once received.

The broker is not using quite the right terminology but your release/discharge/completion date with be the date on your completion certificate, once received.

£10k sounds reasonable - it will be up to creditors to decide. The more attractive the offer, the more likely they are to accept it. I presume this is a new debt that arose post your IVA?

I would advise HMRC that the monies are tied up in the investment and show them the evidence of when it can be released and their debt paid. Try to get their consent to a delay in payment.
