If you have enough equity to pay creditors off in full form the sale of property then you may be able to convince creditors to allow you sufficient time to do that and avoid them taking action against you, potentially avoiding the need for an IVA.

Also creditors will take into account what dividend they would get if you went Bankrupt and if you have 'plenty of equity in the house' this could be a significant sum, depending on the figures so the IVA has to be at least as, or more attractive, than Bankruptcy. There should be about a week or two turnaround from you sending the Nominee all your paperwork and them sending you an initial draft for approval.

Once agreed and signed off they have to give a minimum of 14 days notice to creditors of the meeting to vote on the proposals.
