Thank you for that. I'll see if I can find something local to where I live that helps people in financial difficulties. Or I'll spend the vouchers and donate the equivalent cash to something.

I can relate to the bit about everyone you know doing searches and finding out our guilty secrets! I still feel the same to some extent. The bit about not owing THEM money is absolutely on point.

Ha ha! Thanks, Foggy! I saw the link and went there thinking it would be a meaty article about HMRC claims :)

I'm really honoured by that.

Cheers

I am honoured that my rant about the finer points of an IVA have been recognised. Thank you :D Can I assign mine to Foggy? I was just talking to my other half about this before I'd seen about my "win". Foggy replies to people who are often at their wits end with worry, often within minutes of them p...

Cheers, Foggy. Sneaky! So would I have been better arranging it as a F & F, even though it would have been the full amount? Oh well. I'm guessing they can't close it down now. I guess they must have contacted the creditors, told them I'd paid up and HMRC said "Ooo... hang on a minute..." But a debt ...

Just when I thought it was all done! Back at the end of July I contacted Freeman Jones to get a figure to close my IVA. They told me £6800 and that was to bring it up to 100p in the £. I paid the figure that I was given. I've just had a call and they're now telling me that HMRC have lodged a claim f...

I took out a new contract for my daughter's phone while in the middle of my IVA, and have just upgraded her phone on a new contract as hers was up for renewal.

Called yesterday to get a settlement figure and have sent proof of funds so I have to call today to pay a final payment and then I should be clear again. If anyone is interested, this is my experience and my "belief" in terms of my IVA Started in 2015 Started at £760 a month with a predicted return ...

Hi Ian Thanks for coming back to me. Coincidentally, I had an email from someone called Yvonne this morning asking for an update on settling. I've replied asking for: A settlement figure that assumes the August payment will go through as it's probably too late to cancel it How to pay Like I say, I'm...

Have a look on Google. There are 'guides'. It's been a while since I did mine but I went for the maximum guide amount on everything and then some as my work travel was higher than the guides. I think the only one they beat me down on was cigarettes. I put in £240 I think as that was roughly what we ...

Hi all I think there's someone from Freeman Jones on here but I can't for the life of me remember who it is. I've contacted them as I should get the proceeds from my ex-wife buying me out of our house today. So far, no reply. I've only got a few months left of my 5 years and I'm predicted to pay 100...

If my experience is right, you will pay back 100% of the original debt plus fees and possible statutory interest. If that takes less than 5 years then your IVA will be finished. Just remember, what you pay back is based on the whole original debt and not 60 x what you agreed as a monthly payment at ...

Yeah, I was kind of hoping that they would just let me off at the 5 year mark as I'll be at over 90% by that point. I can't *not* tell them when the house transfer completes so I may as well just bite the bullet, get a settlement figure and be done with it.

Thanks, as always, Foggy!

Hi I've finally got a completion date for my ex to buy me out of our old house. This is 30th July and the amount I'll receive will more than pay off the balance of the IVA. The 5 year anniversary of my IVA is the end of August. The total figure for my IVA including fees, etc, was about 85k. Due to a...
