Whilst I think your offer is in range of what would be acceptable I question the value of doing it in the final year. By the time you have proposed, creditors notified and accepted, payment received and certificate issued you will more than likely be only six payments left to make. I question whethe...

if you have saved this from your allowances and have paid any extra to your iva, then you are free to do what you like with your money.

However and this is my personal view- would that £800 be better left as a back up right now if overtime gas stopped?
Is £800 on an electric bike a luxury right now?

Congratulations on the baby front - double trouble for sure ! Regarding second mortgage etc .... I would conclude your IVA, get your certificate and then approach our forum experts regarding a mortgage. Ryan from Zebra comes highly recommended as done Shaun. Their contact details can be gleaned from...

Your disposable income has increased so you will be expected to pay your creditor's more of your original debt back during the term of your iva - only when you have paid 100p in the £ back plys fees and possible statutory interest will your iva conclude, if prior to the end of your iva term.

I would look into leasing a car personally but wait until you have your certificate of completion. This way you will have the option to pay monthly, knowing you have reliable car, that is affordable but allows you to change cars every 3 or 4 years. Great you are able to save £400/month for a house f...

A good starting point would be one or both of the forum experts. I would suggest a whole of market broker with experience in adverse credit applications, as lenders policies do vary --- some will accept you as soon as your credit record clears, some three or even six years after completion and sone ...

I personally can vouch for Ryan from Zebra who has helped us achieve our mortgage goals on more than one occasion since our IVA.

Am sure other whole of the mortgage brokers such as Shaun from Select have the same level of support from past customers too

Good luck and let is know what happens

If your old account is now closed the refund will be 'bounced back for re-issue to a different account - you maybe able to reach it then. However if your old account is part of your iva list of creditors I would doubt they would be forthcoming on allowing you access to that money, nor would I imagin...

Only natural to worry, but yes I believe you are doing the right thing. Once approved look at it as a 5 year loan and count down your payments. They will go quick and before you know it you will be in year 5. Don't get me wrong, living an iva can be challenging and does require sacrifices to be made...
