My thoughts are with you Dorothy in these difficult and sad times. The loss of your son is huge, but take comfort that he is still helping you and enabling you to move forwards with your life - he will always be there to guide and support you xx

Congratulations on your full and final.

I would chat to Ryan and or Shaun regarding mortgage options so you prepare now for when your credit rating is clear. Both are mortgage specialists on the forum who have been able to help lots of numbers over the years.

I can remember the lead up to our iva creditors meeting was the worst time ever- but I can assure you once it is approved, the sense of relief is almost instant, a spring in your step returns, and you will feel a new lease of life. Use this time to get to grips with your proposed budget. We stopped ...

Stick to your guns and don't swap it over to RCP. Hold out ... SO or DD as set up at the outset is the agreed method of payment and they cannot force you to change. As foggy says, they need to resolve the issue at their end not expect you to change.

Totally agree with foggy and kallis - this approach is unacceptable and you should stick to your guns and refuse. Recurring card payments are quite dangerous and before you know it they could be taking far more than your agreed monthly payment. Let us know how you get on.

It's really hard for us to advise, but given the circumstances I would hope creditors see it positively for you. Please remember though that your credit rating will continue to be impacted for the remaining period up to 6 years from the start date of your iva.

Good luck x

I'd give it to July and then start asking on a monthly basis until 6 months, then I would be on their case every week chasing for it.

Am sure you will have it way before your 13 month deadline for mortgage purposes

As foggy says some expenses are budgeted monthly but in reality are quarterly or by-monthly etc. Save what you can each month from your allowances and have it ready to fall back on. You will no doubt have emergencies during your iva and will need it then. Remember we don't go to dentist, buy clothes...

Any joint accounts or finances with your husband will be negatively impacted by the iva. Whether you end your iva now or not, the impact is there I'm afraid for the full 6 years. Think really carefully before ending your iva - you could be far worse off then before. Personally I would see it as a 5 ...

You should infirm your IP of your inheritance and if you have received the money you will need to agree with them the amount you are required to pay across. You can ask them to seek approval from creditors to forgo the statutory interest element (we did in same position), leaving you with the outsta...
