Contact Ryan or Shaun our forum mortgage experts who will be better placed to confirm likekihood of a mortgage while the iva remains on your credit file.

It maybe you have to wait but depending on level of deposit you have they may know providers willing to help you gain the mortgage required.

You will need their permission to do so and any restrictions placed on the house during the iva will need to be lifted so as not to impact the sale going through.

Until this is done and the iva removed from credit file you may find, if a new mortgage is required, it will be difficult to do so.

Sorry to say whilst your iva is ongoing and on your credit file (6 years from its start date) it will be almost impossible to get a mortgage. You will be better off focusing on your iva, saving as much as you can from your allowances and making a plan for when the iva is done, certificate of closure...

In your iva agreement is there an equity release clause? Normally equity would be considered in year 4. Finishing an iva now will not necessarily prove financially the best option for your creditors as they may get a higher return if the iva ran its duration through increased income, bonuses, overti...

Welcome to the forum ! Your iva will end prior to the proposed end date if you have been able to pay 100% of your original debt, plus fees and potential statutory interest. Equity release will only be taken if you have not reached this. Your credit file will remain effected until the 6th anniversary...

Nothing to add to the advice of foggy other than to say stay positive ..an iva would not be being proposed if your IP did not believe it was the best option for you. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

It is not possible for us to recommend one company over another, however my advice is to contact three or four, take their advice then go with the one that makes you feel comfortable and one that can become your 'best friend' for the next 6 years as you will be working with them closely for sure. The end decision will be the wording of your policy and iva although I would hope some lenancy by your IP due to circumstances of the payout would be taken into account.
