Keep pestering until you get that letter - remember you will be on the Insolvency Register for up to 3 months after that date.

You can, but why would you want to? Your credit will be shot and you may well have to pay across towards it.

I have never heard of it before - as far as I am aware it will stay on your credit file for six years from the start date.
