I have completed my final IVA payment and would like closure as soon as possible to enable me to sell my property and repay the outstanding mortgage since the term ends in eight months. Aperture initially promised me closure by mid/end of March but has since e-mailed to say not before 6 months. I am in the process of early retirement due to ill health. I am unable to afford the urgent repairs needed on the house. Can I market the house with a view to a sale at this time?

I would get in touch again and tell them they need to expedite this because of your problems. Keep on at them.

You can market the house whilst waiting for completion, but cannot actually sell. Be aware, though, that, if it gets to the stage where searches are made a potential purchaser will discover the restriction on the deeds and might drop out.

Aperture can work faster, though it seems they choose not to.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.

Make sure they lift the restriction in a timely manner too as my IVA company didn't and I only found out 4 years later when I tried to remortgage!
