Hello all
My IVA completed in early 2019 and we have our lives back debt free and better than ever with thanks to the great help and support from the wonderful people on this forum. We have even managed to get a nice cushion of savings in the bank and a very healthy credit score!
However, our interest only mortgage has come to an end and has to be paid up by next year. We have quickly sold the house and need somewhere else to live but the mortgage a specialist broker will be able to get us will not cover a purchase in this area. We could afford to buy a % of a shared ownership place so no mortgage needed but just pay the rent and have been approved for this. However the question of whether you have ever been in an IVA is in the initial screening from the housing association so of course we have to answer honestly. Has anyone else been successful with this? Many thanks in advance for any experiences!
An update on this:
The housing association agreed to us having a shared ownership house despite declaring the completed IVA.
Just another example of how life can get back to normal after an IVA and so much better without all the stress of living in debt!
