I had an IVA and then sold my property in 2017, the iVA and charges took all my profit from the sale of the house but I at least believed I was debt free. I have now received a list of consolidated fines dated back from 2012! I thought these would have been included in the IVA but I am reading that fines are not included. Is this still true if I have paid off the IVA and the fines were from before the IVA was setup? Seems extremely ridiculous how the only organisation exempt from the IVA is the legal system! I paid £20000 in fees for the IVA

Hi,

What were the fines for?

I am afraid that what you have read is correct -- fines cannot be included in an IVA. Parking charges (issued by independent parking firms) can be. as these are civil debts (and often not enforcable anyway).
