Personally I wouldn't. Reputable companies should not be asking you to do that.

I would not authorise any company to access my bank details.

I have never heard of them ( which means they don't get shouted about on here, at least). But I would be wary of a firm that sees the need to style their trading name to look "official" ---- 'Citizens Debt Advice' - bit close to CAB !

If it is the company in Lymm, they appear to be 11 months old, which may be why they are not yet on the radar.

I've never heard of them either. Please speak to one or two more companies.

It is used, but I wouldn't say it was common. I only know of CreditFix doing this routinely, but I am sure others do --- it is just something I would not allow, personally.

Ask them who their IP is --- they could be an intermediary who will just collect details and throw you on to a firm of their choice, as opposed to yours. It doesn't bode well if we cannot find their website or professional bona fides online.

I have found a website for "uk citizens debt advice" .... very basic, but does mention an IP. However, altogether not impressive.
