I have 5 years into an IVA, 1 year to go. My husband had a loan in his name many years ago and the payents for this went out of the joint account at the time. a PPI refund has come back to him and they have tried to pay it into this closed joint account. He has a letter stating that his half of this account has been paid in full and closed 3 months ago.
My IVA company say that the claim refund in his name alone, because the payments went through the joint account may still need to be paid to my IVA even though the original loan was nothing to do with me. they are going to look into this further, but this doesn't seem correct. can you advise me on this.

Thank you Lynn

"He has a letter stating that his half of this account has been paid in full"

What doe you mean by this please? Have they only refunded his account with 50% of the compensation?

If so what have they done with the other 50%?
