Hi,

There have been a couple of posts recently where, well into the IVA, and some right at the end, the IP has written to say that a "new creditor" has appeared, claiming a debt that the debtor doesn't recognise.

I am wondering if this is the start of a new scam, where someone trawls the Insolvency Register and puts in small claims in the hope that the IP will just accept it as fact and add it in (which they can do if within limits) --- a couple of hundred quid here and there could add up. It seems that at least one IP has accepted claims without reference to the debtor to check the veracity !

Has this happened to anyone else ?

Unless it can be proved, should not be allowed and the creditor should be told to do one!!
