Well the next few days are going to be the most surreal and turbulent emotionally of my life I think.

My girlfriend is taking me to Jamie's Italian (Jamie Oliver owned place) tonight for my birthday so I'm really looking forward to that.

Tomorrow is my birthday (31, no more denying I'm actually in my 30's lol) and its the funeral of my nephew Sean Rodgers who was murdered last month. I just know when I see my Sister and Nieces crying I'll get really upset myself.

This is to be followed by what I've no doubt will be a good old fashioned Irish wake as his family hails from the Emerald Isle.

Then later that evening I'll be going to Silverstone with my Best Mate for the F1 GP weekend, something we have been looking forward to since last year.

All in all, it's going to be a very confusing 2 days of highs and lows, whoever said life was simple eh [:)]

Well I got back at 11.15am today and I'm shattered!

We got to Jamie's Italian on my Birthday and it was a 10 min wait outside with a 45 min wait inside for a table so we went to another place and the food was awesome [:D]

She really spoilt me, got me a really nice watch and us tickets to see a Rat Pack tribute next week can not wait. Not sure what I did to deserve her [:)]

The next day (My birthday) was really odd, all gathering at my Sisters house for the funeral and I was been given all these cards.

We got to the Church and were about 100 people outside with a heavy police presence. Got inside and did not realise loads of other people had already gone in so my Brother, my Best Mate and I had to stand at the back, must have been over 300 people present.

The Service was different, kept playing songs he liked instead of hymns and one of his mates wrote a song about him and it was played which was really nice, then police closed the road and we processed down the road to the Cemetery. It was the first time I had been to a burial and it was strange.

The wake was packed as well and a real celebration of what Sean meant to people. I got a little bit drunk then had to go home and pack the car for Silverstone (Best mate was designated driver lol)

Got to Campsite Thursday night and met up with a load of people from last year.

We spent the next few days drinking late into the night then getting up mega early to go to Silverstone.

It was totally awesome and so so hot, forgot to put cream on the first day or even take it so got burnt. By Qualifying and the race on Sunday the sun was too much and we were just praying for cloud and rain lol.

The Terrace was so packed it was mad and on race day we had to get up at 4am and get to the track for 5am, was so tired. The race was excellent and I loved it but had to keep watching the pennies lol, it was £7 for Fish n Chips, so I took my own snacks and made do lol.

Glad everything went ok Luke.

My hubby did Silverstone for the MotoGP qualifying this year and loved it. He wouldn't do F1 though.

Pleased the funeral went ok and I'm sure Sean would have been watching with approval!

Know the feeling Luke! I may not eat much anymore but I do need feeding!

Nothing like your own bed is there?

I'm glad the funeral went as well as possible.

I don't blame you for not waiting for a table, I wouldn't have done either!

I am sooooooooo envious of you going to Silverstone, although I have to say the camping wouldn't have done it for me!

I've just put fresh bedding on to spoil myself haha!! [:)]

Camping was good, had a nice bunch around us and we would sit around drinking a few and chatting away.

But you do miss the comforts of home I agree.
