Hi I had an IVA in 2010 and completed successfully in 2016. I am now applying for jobs in financial sectors and they are asking if I ever had an IVA? I know for sure if I say "yes", I will not be called for the interview. What should I do? Can anyone trace an IVA which has been closed and removed from all credit reports? Can anyone trace that I had an IVA from any other database?
I'm afraid if the question is 'have you ever had an IVA' you should be honest and answer yes. You may find you will still get called for interview, depending on what your role would be. We have posters on here, past and present, who have found work in the financial sector.
You could always make anonymous call to the firm and ask the question.
You may get away with saying no but these things do have a habit of coming back to bite you. Your credit record may be clear but it depends on how much delving these firms do and some companies keep their own records for a good few years after you have completed.

The issue is, if you outright lie on your application form and it subsequently comes to light, you could be looking at instant dismissal. This could be because of the lie, not because of the IVA !
In theory, we have a 'clean slate'. In practice things are never that 'black and white' and, as Kallis says, things do have a habit of crawling out of the woodwork.
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
