I filled my car up tonight - £73! Where on earth is this all going to end?

Ridiculous! We can manage £20-£30 a week and that's it. Can't remember the last time we had a full tank.

Good job I don't have to go too far to work!

It is far better to just accept what people say they actually spend than have any sort of formula which may suit some but not others.

Exactly - I've never had to put down my mileage at all, I just tell my IP what my petrol costs are.

I see they reckon it will go up to £1.30 a litre shortly.

I shan't be able to afford to go soon!

My car is now on 1/4 tank, we will put £30 in on Monday and it will still be just over half full.

We're going to have to approach the OR soon as my new job is a 53 mile round trip, compared with 12 miles previously.

I filled up today and it cost me £40, that will last me all week, but its still a lot!

I'm lucky that my trip is 25 miles and has been for a few years now -unfortunately my car is not the most economical!

I've always hated filling up with petrol, and even more so. I've got no idea what it would cost from empty, but I'll be finding out if I don't hurry up!

I usually get hubby to do it as I hate it as well! Don't need the car until Tuesday now, so he will have to do it for me Monday!

I'm struggling with unlocking the fuel cap on my new car. So I have to open it on my drive and go to the garage at the top of the hill. [:I]

I know the feeling Julie - years ago I got a new car and a day or so later it needed petrol. I got to the petrol station and spent ages trying to get the petrol cap off but in the end I had to admit defeat, drive home to get the manual and go back again, hoping it would run on fumes!
