I have also had a IVA with synergi, my personnal circumstances have changed and been unable to make a couple of payments. I have tried to make conatct with no success. I have spoken with CAB who adviced to cancel. Need to now whats going on.
Syngergi is now owned by Cleardebt so I would give them a ring.

You should only cancel an IVA when all attempts to deal with the missed payments have failed. I think that you will find the new owners of your IVA very helpful, and they will want to work with you to try and find a solution to save the IVA.
Did the CAB suggest any solutions to you as well as advising you to fail the IVA?
I agree with Lesley - I'm sure Cleardebt will get it closed for you. I take it you are still on the Insolvency Register and have never received a completion letter?
