It is extra income and around half of the tax credit award will be payable to the IVA -- most likley to be treated as a 'pay increase'.

It depends on how the IVA was set up at the start. If they used your income only, then it makes no difference what the wife gets, but, if they used hers as well then it counts as income and is payable --- this should all have been discussed at the start.

Usually DLA is counted as income, but balanced out by the expenses it is meant for.

As I have said before it depends on whether your wifes income was taken into the IVA payment --- if it was they will check and see the DLA on bank statements. If it wasn't, it will not be taken into account now.

USUALLY a partners income isn't taken into account, except to work out their share of household expenses. But, some firms DO take it into account and base the IVA payment on household income rather than only the income of the person in the IVA.

What income is mentioned in your paperwork --- is it just yours ? I think ( but things change) that Stepchange only use the income of the person in the IVA and so the wifes income and DLA paid to her will not be counted.

If your agreed allowances plus the IVA payment equals your pay, then the IVA is based on your income only.

You will need to declare it but it should be offset against your needs.
