Well said Andy. There is a clear difference between not being able to pay and not WANTING to pay.

Hi,
Firstly I would like to thank Mel and Storm for their advice and help and for not being judgemental.

Secondly I would like to appologise to those I have offended by trying to save myself some money. I do wonder though how many of you would do the same if someone said to you, we can promise to write off £100,000 of your mortgage but of course you lot being so "moral" would say no no no I will work my nuts off and pay it of myself thanks all the same... really????

Anyway as you say if your not wanting to help someone who is not willing to pay their debts (not that I had a problem wanting to until someone said "you don't have to") then maybe you best read a different thread or at least stop replying to this one with your useless thoughts about me...

And just to make you all aware before I went bankrupt I spent 14 months living with £15 a week to live and I had to get food out of that, and thats because I lost my job (through no fault of my own) and got another one straight away... but I just did not earn the same sort of money, how many of you self righteous people can say they struggled that long to pay it back

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I really don't think that any thoughts are 'useless' and I don't think any of us are being self righteous.

As I said previously I've also been BR, and there is no way I would want to risk further defaults on my credit file due to a company promising something they probably won't deliver.

P3ersonally I would cancel all dealings with this company, If I was lending money it wouldn't be to someone who was looking to escape paying a card he had taken out since bankruptcy. Do you use your overdraft regularly because that might possibly be flagging up as a problem. Also, due to the recession banks are having to be more responsible in their lendingso this could be part ly why you can't get a loan. If you are on 41000 a year surely it would be possible to save the money needed therefore not paying any interest charges at all??? My income is less than half of yours with 3 children to feed & clothe on my own & I have managed to save close to that amount in a year.

Yeah I think I will be making that call.. I did earn £41000 last year but as I'm a single with no kids or any ties I do what i want when I want, which is my problem and something I need to sort out I wont earn that this year as I have had most of the year off due to an opperation which is where my problems have really started as I have had too much time on my hands and cash has gone through them like water.

I do admire people like you and wish I could be more like you I'm just hopeless with money I just buy what i want. (Maybe settleing down and having a kid maight make me think more lol)

LOl!!

I just begrudge paying banks money that I could spend myself, therefore I always pay cash for a car for eg.

Best way to budget is to put what you think you can afford into savings FIRST & then spend what is left after essential bills.
