Long time since my last post - seem to have been buried in work...
Anyway a couple of weeks ago I received two text messages from very similar numbers *numbers deleted* with the same message content "Wipe off your debts! Begin your application today and start to wipe off debt with a New Government Settlement Order from April 2010, reply YES to find out more".
Needless to say, the temptation to reply "YES" wasn't that great. I've never heard of a "New Government Settlement Order" and, as far as I can tell, neither has Google!
Anyone heard of these before, and any comments?
Debt problems, what debt problems? I'm not in De Thames, I'm in De Nile.
No never heard of them but you are right not to reply. The chances are it could be one of those scam numbers and you get charged a ridiculous amount by your provider and the scammer gets some money
Wouldn't touch anything like this with a ten foot barge pole.

I received an identical text message a few days ago, and was immediately suspicious about the sender/number/content. Looked up the sender's mobile number on http://www.whocallsme.com - numerous people have been receiving these messages.
