Hi there,

I've been in an IVA for nearly two years now. The thing is I ordered some workshoes and a workjacket from a website and it's been added it to an account. Will this now show on my credit report that I've applied for credit. They didnt ask any details off me regarding my income/outcome etc what you usually get asked say if you apply for a storecard. Im really worried that this may affect my IVA. Can anyone give me any advice

Hi broke as,

These sort of companies do tend to open an account whether you want one or not.

If you have paid for these goods, then just write to them telling them that you don't want an account.

There won't be a problem.

If these were ordered in good faith with the intention of paying for them outright then I see no problem. Just pay the bill in full as you were going to do anyway and it is therefore not credit. To put your mind at rest then a call to your IP to let them know cannot hurt, I am sure that they will take a commonsense approach also.

Regards.

If you intend to pay the balance straight away there is no credit, as if a client came to me in your circumstances and the debt was gone it is in no ones interest to take any action as any potential default has already been remedied.

I think the majority of posters who use these firms do so with the intention of paying cash.

A quick word to the firm concerned should see the account closed.

It's not taking credit - so it is a non-issue!
