Hi all,

I have just cancelled all my DD with my creditors. I have paid all creditors for January, and the next minimum payment is due to Barclaycard no later than 24th February, with the remainder following soon after.

My question is how long after the 24th Feb will they begin chasing?
Do they start with a letter initially, or is it straight into the phone calls all times of the day?

Many thanks.

Hi
Usually straight in with the phone calls I'm afraid. Just give them details of your IP and don't get caught up in deep conversations with them
Regards

Hi,

They will start chasing as soon as you miss a payment, and will be both by phone and letter.

If you can go on any online sites you have, I recommend you do so and delete any contact details they have, even put false ones in.

I always use 1000 000000. It usually accepts that.

Surely your next statements i.e feb. would show your recent payment as being upto date and therefore your next payment after that would be the one they start chasing you for if and when its not recieved

As soon as you show as having missed a payment, then they will be on the phone.

It was three days for me with Barclaycard.

When we missed our payments - they didn't start chasing it until the statement came in for the next payment. But since then they have phoned me every day religiously. I pleasantly just keep telling them I am proposing an IVA, if you wish to contact someone blah blah. They're not getting fed up haha. But neither would I if someone owed me money.

Wow they don't hang around then.

Is it right that some will push for a charge against your property, and this can happen within a 3 month period?

Not that we have any equity in the property.

That's what I'm saying - it's as soon as a payment is missed.

I wrote to my creditors, but did not speak to them via the phone until the day my IVA was approved.

It's unlikely that they will push for a charge whilst you are proposing an IVA, and even if they threaten you with this, your IP can sort it for you.

Is there anyone particular creditor I should be wary of?

Different people have different problems with different creditors. With me it was Barclaycard/Mercers. With others it is Egg, as has been posted earlier today.

Many thanks all.

Barclays and Egg are 2 of my creditors.
What tactics do they use?

Is it just calls, or can you expect people at your doorstep?

Barclays pass over to Mercers(I'm sure that's short for mercenaries ) Egg never really tormented me to be honest.

Now you have cancelled your payments, I would get cracking on putting the debt solution in place as soon as possible.
