My husband took out an IVA a few years ago. A debt that we thought had been included in this is now chasing me for payment. The IVA is in my husbands name yet the debt is in joint names. Am i liable for this debt and any others that were in joint names. If so am i liable for the full amount.

Hi Janet and welcome to the forum, I do think the company can persue you for the amount of the debt in joint names. Do stay around and you will get further comprehensive advice.

If there was a debt in joint names you are liable to repay it. If your husband's IVA has made payments to that debt your liability will have decreased but you are liable for the balance. When the IVA was prepared were you not given an allowance towards paying your personal liabilities?
