MBNA will vote or not you ask?? Does MBNA know? Alternatively, they can sell your debt to Evershed before the vote takes place?? They are known to ditch the debt before the vote takes place if they feel it will be approved.
I found MBNA - or rather agencies acting on their behalf - to be one of the most persistent creditors whilst my IVA was being prepared. I had 3 accounts with MBNA but - come the creditors meeting - they voted yes to all three. As my IVA was a close run thing I am very grateful to all my creditors who voted yes so thank you and Happy Christmas to MBNA from me. Having said that all the accounts were later sold onto Max Recovery.
I found MBNA's call centre staff rude and pushy - the worst of my creditors. I had to tell them that if they didn't stop ringing me at work I would be sacked and therefore they wouldn't get anything and I put the phone down on them a couple of times. The ironic thing is they didn't even bother to vote at my creditors' meeting!
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is the present - a gift to make the most of.
MBNA were one of my creditors too, they were very aggressive during the time my IVA was being prepared, their 'insolvency department' kept ringing me and sending letters advising me that an IVA was the wrong thing to do, they said my best option would be to set up a debt management plan with them.
I didn't do as they advised and my IVA was approved last April, the ridiculous thing was they voted yes and the day after my IVA was approved a very pleasant lady from MBNA 'insolvency department' rang me and said they had looked at my proposal and decided it was the best return they were going to get so they voted yes, she then wished me the best of luck for the future.
As you can see from my personal experience, MBNA will try every trick in the book to squeeze money out of you but if your IP does his/her job properly, they will vote yes when they realise it's the best return available, let's face it the alternative is most probably bankruptcy and the return from that will be considerably less.
I hope this helps [:D][:D]
IVA COMPLETED ON THE 17th MARCH, FINAL I&E COMPLETED 26th APRIL, COMPLETION CERTIFICATE ARRIVED 2nd AUGUST
MBNA have my mobile number, I just don't answer it, then forward the answerphone message in text form via e-mail to my IP. They are very pushy, they were calling me at work, so I gave them my mobile number to try and sort this. Hopefully, the letters will be going out to creditors today so they might start taking some notice and stop ringing me (I can but hope!!)
I had the same problem with MBNA with constant phone calls trying to get money out of me.
Staff are very rude and at one stage a women rung screaming down the phone for £8. I was waiting for the next call off them so I could tell them if they stopped ringing me they would soon make up there £8 buy saving on the phone calls

They can try and leave all the messages they want, they will each get forwarded to my IP - she is more than happy to fend them off. I just hope they don't try to call me at work, but our receptionist is good at deflecting calls if I say I don't want to talk to them!
I'm actually quite surprised. MBNA rang my mobile on Tuesday morning, I let it go on to voicemail, and they said it was "imperative I rang them today", I forwarded this to my IP, she rang them said they were OK about it, but would probably be pestering me again. Touch wood, to date, I have had nothing.
