If the official receiver feels you have a surplus then you have the right to appeal this. I very much doubt if they would want to end up in front of a judge trying to squeeze a few pounds from someone in receipt of state benefits and a full time carer.

The IP that advised you that an IVA was the right option should have also explained why Bankruptcy was not the best option for you. If they did not do this then steer clear.

Bankruptcy approved, paid Bankruptcy fee Friday afternoon and this morning it has been approved, glad that's all over and done with, I'm no worse off today than I was yesterday (Other than the fee). Thank you for the advise given, right up to the last minute I was prepared to go with an IVA, the approval mentions nothing of an IPA/IPO.

I had all the paper work come through from the IVA company (Last Tuesday) but sat on it until I was 100% (it just needed electronically signing and returning) in case there were any issues with a Bankruptcy.

If I know anyone else in the future that needs help I will deffo recommend you guys. xx
