Cheers. Are the proposals sent to creditors via email or post does anyone know?

Just wondering when to expect contact...

Probably by email and the votes will be via either email, phone or fax.

The next thing you should hear, shortly, will be a definite date. After that, maybe the odd call from collection centres, but not much else until after the appointed time of the meeting. After the rush and hubbub of getting everything together it is an uneasy silence.

What do they ask for when they ring? Is it latest payment or as much as they can get off you?

When they phone you it will to say yay or nay and also to sort out any modifications which are usually to do with fees which won't affect you. You should already know what your payments are.

You shouldn't hear anything inbetween the proposal being received and the meeting date unless they have any questions. You may not have any questions.

Oh right. I had visions of being tortured by their collections people from minute proposal received.

Another wee query, when you guys were approved did you send your cards back? My proposal said cards should be cut & returned IF approved.

You won't be tortured at all as your IP company do not use collection agencies - you might get calls from your creditors but you can either ignore them or tell them what you are doing and refer them to your IP.

Cut your cards up as you will no longer be able to use them and then either dispose of them yourself or send them to your IP.

Creditors collection agencies will simply have you on record as a missed payment ( if one arises between now and the meeting) and will be seeking to recover that, or a token payment on account. Tell them that you cannot make any payment to them as that would be deemed treating one creditor with preference over the others, which is not allowed. Some will tell porkies such as the IVA will be rejected if you do not make a payment ... blah ... blah ... blah.....

They do not know what they are talking about, and some don't even know what an IVA is ( they are outsourced agencies, on commission, with very limited account access).

Good luck for your creditors meeting , I will pray for you.. I know how you feel I was in your position not long ago. Once you hear your creditors meeting day all you have to do wait really. During that time I had lots I MEAN lots of calls sometimes from same creditors different call centre several times in a day. Some of them I answered and kindly told them I was waiting my creditors meeting some I did not answer some I failed the security check. They keep asking why are you going for Iva personally I didn't answer that question as it's not their question to ask. It's easy to say I know but please try to keep calm because the calls doesn't finish even after the approval. My postbox seems much emptier last a few days and I don't receive any more calls as it's been a month since my Iva been approved. You may hear from you ip if any of your creditors wants anything change or added as I had request an 12 month extra but agreed for 6 more months on top of my 5 years Iva.
Keep calm and don't let call centres calls pull you down. Good luck.. looking forward to hear your good news :)
