I started my IVA in Nov 2011, I made the last payment on my IVA in Jan 2017( so was over 6 year due to a 1 year extension as couldn't get equity from my current property) have final IVA sign off papers and lift off my current mortgage/home now. I wondered how long will I need to wait to get a new mortgage (as want to get a bigger property but not done anything about it with being in IVA). Many thanks :-)

With a clear credit file you should be good to go. However, lenders all have different criteria and some will happily lend right away whilst a few will never lend to an ex-IVA'er !

I would advise haveing a chat with Ryan and / or Shaun, who are two whole of market brokers specialising in adverse credit applications. Their details can be found under the "Quick Links" tab ( top left) and then "The Team" on the drop down. Admittedly one or two forum mebers have literally walked into a High Street lender and got the mortgage themselves, but you have to remember that, if you get a couple of refusals at the beginning, each "No" will leave a stain on your sparklingly clean credit record and make refusals more likely from even the sympathetic lenders.
