I want to apply for a part time open university course, for which I would also need to apply for a student loan. The course would be to enhance the job I currently do. I am currently 2 years into my IVA, so is this a viable option? I will be working full time and the payments I make into my IVA won't be affected at all but obviously I'm wary as it involves applying for credit which is in contradiction to the terms of an IVA

You would need the agreement of your IP but, as far as I am aware, as repayments on the student loan wouldn't be due during the life of the IVA, this should be no problem.

I agree with Foggy. You can get credit with the consent of the IVA supervisor and this is not uncommon.
