I'm currently going through insolvency, my partner and I are talking about moving in together. Will my iva affect her child maintenance and child benefit?

The IVA will have no effect on her child maintenance or child benefit. However, you moving in would alter your expenditure as ahe will be expected to pay a share of utilities etc. so increasing your disposable income, which, in turn, will affect your IVA payment. If you are with Payplan they also like to calculate things on household income, which effectively means the solvent partner paying towards the insolvents debts.

Often a cleaner way of dealing with this would be for you to, as far as your IP is concerned, move in on a house share basis, so you will simply have much the same expenses as you do now and a "rent" to pay.

Do not get any joint finances or accounts as your IVA could then affect her credit score.

So long as you avoid joint finances and stick to house sharing as says Foggy says you will be ok. Good luck !
