hello I finished my iva early last October why will it be on credit file till may 2018?

Your IVA will remain on your credit files for 6 years from the start date .. as will the correctly dated defaults. This is down to the simple fact that the CRA's deem 6 years to be a sensible time for your history to be shown to potential lenders. You remain on the Insolvency Register for up to three months after the issue of your completion certificate ( which, itself, can take up to 6 monhts from the date of your final payment).

As foggy says it remains for 6 years from the start date of your iva - appreciate having finished you want to move forwards but 2018 is the date you need to be focusing on.

Keep an eye on your credit records so that they are all tidied up in time. Clearscore and Noddle are free to check.

I'm afraid it's 6 years from the start of your IVA, regardless that you finished early.
