Who has told you this ? You can apply for it, but the refunds are payable into your IVA. Usually your IP will instruct a pet claims company to carry out this exercise.

During my IVA I claimed all the PPI myself, it was a lot of paperwork and I didn't get to see a penny of it, but I did manage to substantially increase the p per £ repayment to my creditors as there was no middle man (company) skimming off their 40% in fees.

It wouldn't surprise me if this isn't the next mis-selling saga ---- the fees these firms charge are criminal considering the work they actually do ( or get the computers to do). Trouble is they won't be around for much longer to chase for fee refunds if it did hit the fan.

I have no idea whether or not I was missold - just happy to let sleeping dogs lie now.

In the dying throes of PPI refunds the ombudman is saying that refunds are due even if the insurance wasn't mis-sold, as such, becuase of the exhorbitant commission paid to introducers!

Have a peep here: https://www.fca.org.uk/ppi/?gclid=EAIaI ... gIQ6fD_BwE

Don't even know if I had any but just can't be bothered now - did speak to a company who advertises on tv some time ago and was asked if I had ever been in an IVA and when I said yes, they did not want to know.

You can claim but won't be entitled to any compensation award/s so leave it for your IP to investigate.
