Hi i am currently 1/2 way my iva. My boyfriend has just got a mortgage to take over his old house from his ex wife, but has a 2nd charge to pay her a lump sum in a few years time when the son is 18. If i were to move in with him would this affect his future remortgage etc. I don't want to consider moving in if i could affect his financial position.

As long as you get no joint finances the IVA should not affect his credit record.

Hi Karen,

It shouldn't be an issue whilst you aren't named on the Mortgage.

In the event of circumstances changing (if you were to get married say) that could have an impact as many Lenders now would only look to lend in joint names if you are married.

Regards
