I had several of these, from a different creditor, all they did was ring me on the specified day. It's was a 'clever' use of ambiguous language designed to frighten me!
Thanks for your answers.
I suppose the fact they state "will be calling your home" can be misconstrued.

Hi, I had one the same and phoned the company and she said that somebody would be ringing me on that day not actually calling to my home. Like you said it is the way they word the document, I think they do it on purpose to scare you. I did not receive a call and nobody turned up at my house so don't worry.
I too have had one of those from the Halifax, and I waited in and no one called, this was last week. Please do not be intimidated by these letters, forward them on to your chosen IP, all is fine.
There is a letter template around that informs them their right to pay you a visit at home is revoked and if they turn up you'll report them for trespass. It's fairly strongly worded (and probably not enforceable!) but it made me feel better sending it ... given all the threats their automated systems throw out at us over the months!!
I can stick a copy up if you fancy sending it [:I]
Yes that would be good if you could. Im not in the least worried about this letter - hence the tongue in cheek title to this thread "Were coming for you"[:D]

I had one a couple of weeks ago. I posted on here as I was worried about it and was advised not to worry.
No-one called to the door and no-one phoned.

'I refer to your specific point suggesting an agent may call at my home to discuss my account. Under the rules set by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) you can only arrange a visit to my home if I wish to make an appointment and I have no such wish to do so.
There is an implied license under English Common Law for people to be able to visit me on my property without express permission; the postman and people asking for directions. Therefore take note that I revoke license under Common Law for you, or your representatives to visit me at my property and, if you do so, you will be liable to damages for a tort of trespass and action will be taken, including but not limited to, police attendance.'
Nicely worded however I believe the same as the others that they are ambiguously meaning someone will phone you on that date. If you are in an IVA all chasing phone calls are to stop anyway and if they don't I would call the IP and get them to have a friendly chat with said creditor
We had loads of these from Halifax and although it is ambiguous, it does mean they will phone and not visit.
However, even though I never phoned them to say that it wasn't convenient, they never actually called.

We've had one or two posters who've had a visit and I don't want to scare anyone but just to let you know that it may happen but I do believe it's very rare. Wasn't Viki one of the people who had a visit once? x
