Sorry if it seems like I am asking a silly question. I have searched this fab site for the answer but cant seem to find it. I would like to know who needs to be informed of a persons IVA other than the creditors? for example would my employees need to know?

Thanks in anticipation

Some contracts of employment do require that you disclose an iva. If you are unsure check your contract or maybe an anonymous call to your company HR department would answer your query.

Your employers would also need to know if you owed them any money - for instance if you had a staff loan. What do you do for a living as a matter of interest?

Then I cannot see any reason why your employers would need to be notified of your intention to propose an IVA, but do check your contract to be sure.

My employer knows nothing about my IVA at all and I work for the police.

I work in IT and my employers don't know about my IVA - just 1 colleague who is going through an IVa themselves. x

I work in finance and I didn't inform my employer of my IVA. I checked the wording of the contract and it ask me to, so I didn't.

They have never asked about my personal finances nor requested to undergo any form or credit referencing.

The only people who know are me, my IP, my family and my partner.

I think I read earlier that your IP tells Tax Credits if you receive them..?? Is that right??
I work for my Local Authority and didnt have to tell them.
