Why does IVA company need a property valuation?

hi please help my husband is dying from heart failure and we have asked to do paid to date on iva just been told that one creditor wants a valuation done on house so so scared my property is being taken when my husband is dying god these companies do not have any respect at all please please someone explain to me why this is happening?

They want to see what they might be missing out on -- callous, I know, but to them it is business ! They won't take your home, but might prefer the IVA to run if there is a chance of equity release or 12 months extra payments.

To be blunt, equity release would seem unlikely in the circumstances and hanging out for 12 extra payments is reprehensible .
My opinions are merely that .. opinions based on experience. Always seek professional advice.
